Insect control (pest control measures)

Insect control (pest control measures) is a complex of measures aimed at destroying or reducing the number of insects that are carriers of infectious diseases.

Insect control measures:

Sanitary - preventive, the purpose of which is to minimize the number of places suitable for habitation and dispersal of insects, as well as the prevention of their entry into the premises (quality cleaning, proper storage of food products, timely repair work, etc.).
Extermination, the purpose of which is the complete elimination of insects in buildings, territories or a steady decline in their numbers. The following control methods are used for these purposes:

mechanical (traps of different types, sticky tapes),
physical (scalding, freezing, ultraviolet traps),
biological (use of viruses, bacteria, fungi, helminthes, birds, mammals, etc.)
chemical (use of chemicals - insecticides).
